On 4 and 5 July, D.R.E.Am. Italia, together with Forestas, is organising an event on combating forest fires and good practices for prevention as part of the Horizon ResAlliance project.
In particular, 4 July will be dedicated to a showroom of good local practices aimed at fire prevention and the use of prescribed burning techniques both in firefighting and as a practice for forest management and biodiversity conservation.
On 5 July, Forestas will organise a field visit to the sites where the FIRE RES and MedStar projects are being implemented
ResAlliance is a thematic network project funded by the Horizon Europe programme, which aims to provide foresters and farmers with the knowledge and tools they need to implement innovative landscape resilience solutions.
DREAm and Forestas are the Italian partners behind LandLab Sardegna, a regional laboratory supporting knowledge transfer and the implementation of regional landscape resilience solutions.
This event concludes the activities of LandLab Sardegna, the laboratory where stakeholders discussed issues relating to good practices for cork production and forest fire prevention, which can increase the resilience of the territory to climate change.
The LandLab’s activities have included several events since the start of the project: two exploratory workshops on cork oak cultivation and fires in October and December 2023, an exchange of good practices with Catalonia on firefighting and good grazing practices in May 2024, and the conclusion of the LandLab in June-July 2025 with showrooms of good practices and field visits to the areas of intervention.
These events provided an important opportunity for knowledge exchange between researchers and land managers, motivating the latter to implement new land management methods.
