On 26-27 and 28 June, DREAm Italia, together with Forestas and the community cooperative Làndhe, is organising an event on cork cultivation, related best practices and cooperation as part of the Horizon ResAlliance project.

In particular, 27 June will be dedicated to a showroom of good local practices, focusing on the enhancement of cork oak forests in Sardinia through innovation, cooperation and sustainable forest management.

On 28 June, a field visit will be organised to the cork oak forests in the Alà dei Sardi area to discuss with owners and participants sustainable forest management practices for cork oak forests from the point of view of phytosanitary pruning, adaptive silvicultural management and the multifunctional management of traditional and sustainable agroforestry systems.

ResAlliance is a thematic network project funded by the Horizon Europe programme, which aims to provide foresters and farmers with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement innovative landscape resilience solutions.

DREAm and Forestas are the Italian partners following LandLab Sardegna, a territorial laboratory to support knowledge transfer and the activation of regional landscape resilience solutions.

This is the second event organised by the project in Alà dei Sardi. The first event was held on 20 October 2023 with an exploratory workshop in which stakeholders linked to the cork oak supply chain came together to identify issues, exchange best practices and address the challenges posed by climate change.
