Vistock. Virtual Fencing for the precision management of beef herds (precision livestock)

The overall objective of the project was to develop an integrated system of innovative technologies and practices to increase beef cattle production and its economic and environmental sustainability, based on the creation of virtual fences with GPS collars associated with electrical impulses, satellite data, modelling tools and Precision Livestock Farming devices.

These activities were carried out on two farms in Mugello: Borgioli Adriano and Umberto società semplice agricola and AGRI.COMES Soc. Coop. Social Agr. O.N.L.U.S. The coordination of the project and its development up to the final report were carried out by D.R.E.AM. Italy, jointly with the University of Florence-DAGRI. The dissemination of the results was carried out by the Regional Association of Breeders of Tuscany-ARAT.
